GUSTINE – Dr. Seuss and his colorful menagerie of characters makes reading fun and challenging with his clever use of rhyme and creative vocabulary.
It’s appropriate his birthday, March 2, is the day set aside by many schools - including Gustine Elementary - to celebrate the art of reading as part of the national Read Across America campaign.
“It’s a day we all look forward to,” expressed Patty Bettencourt, reading specialist at Gustine Elementary, who has organized the local school’s program for eight years.
