Gustine police said a South Avenue resident, identified as 32-year-old Mark Pacheco, was found deceased in his residence Sunday.

Because the death was unattended, Police Chief Devon Stavrowsky said Tuesday, authorities will conduct an autopsy to determine a cause.

The preliminary indication is that the death was from natural causes, Stavrowsky said.

He said injuries Pacheco suffered in a traffic accident two years ago may have been a contributing factor.
