Stove fire closes eatery for a day |

NEWMAN – An early-morning fire interrupted the breakfast crowd at The Grille Friday morning and forced the closure of the restaurant for the day.
The stove fire caused only minor damage, and had been extinguished before fire engines arrived.
The Fresno Street restaurant shut down for the day to clean up in the aftermath, and was back in business Saturday.
The fire was reported at about 5:45 a.m.
