Long-time Newman resident Catherine Guzman Robledo passed away Sept. 27 at age 84.
Mrs. Robledo was a homemaker who dedicated her life to her family.
The following text appeared in a paid obituary in the current issue of the West Side Index and Gustine Press-Standard:
Catherine Guzman Robledo, a resident of Newman for 50 years, passed away peacefully at Brandel Manor of Emanuel in Turlock on Sunday, September 27th surrounded by her loving family and friends at the age of 84. Catherine was born on April 3, 1925 in Zamora, Michoacan, Mexico to the late Daniel and Sara (Arias) Guzman. Catherine was a housewife who dedicated her life to her children. Catherine was a parishioner of St. Joachim’s Catholic Church in Newman and a past member of the Altar Society. Catherine enjoyed cooking, family gatherings and family trips.
Catherine was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joe Robledo; her loving brother, Salvador Guzman; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Catherine is survived by her son Hank (Joan) Robledo of Fresno; daughters, Angie (Dennis) Honeychurch of Twain Harte, Sally (Terry) Anson of Hughson, Kathryn Monize of San Leandro and Linda (Dave) Robledo of Turlock; 8 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 2 great great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A visitation will be held from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, with a Rosary at 7:00 pm, Friday, October 2nd at Hillview Funeral Chapel in Newman. A Funeral Mass will be held at 9:00 am, Saturday, October 3rd at St. Joachim’s Catholic Church in Newman. Burial will follow at Hills-Ferry Cemetery in Newman.
