Donald Jay Sanford, 49, of Sonora, passed away Jan. 25.
Mr. Sanford was a native of Lockport, New York. He was a long-time resident of Newman. He had lived in Sonora for a brief time.
Mr. Sanford was a maintenance worker.
He enjoyed golfing, bowling, fishing and large family gatherings.
He is survived by his wife, Maria Sanford of Modesto; four children,
Amber Sanford of Newman; Ashley Sanford and Tiffany Steir of Vacaville
and Brandy Tarentino of Roseville; five siblings, Mike Sanford and
Patti Smith of Riverbank, Robin Craig of Concord, Ron Sanford of Sonora
and Cheryl Fischer of Pittsburg; three grandchildren and numerous
nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Sanford in 2003 and
Eleanor Sanford in 2007, and a brother, Bob Stanford in 2007.
A service will be held Friday, Feb. 5, at 7 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Newman.
