To the editor:

There is a movement afoot to destroy one of our most basic civil liberties; the right to address our health and nutrition needs as we see fit.

The Dietary Supplement Safety Act of 2010 threatens to severely restrict your access to dietary supplements. These are supplements that contain only nutrients that occur naturally in the foods we eat.

Modern food processing often destroys many of these nutrients, making supplementation almost a necessity for optimum health and well being.
