Two Gustine High track athletes earned spots in this week’s section meet with strong showings at the Western Athletic Conference finals in Patterson Thursday.

Cristian Flores will compete in two section events, the 400 meters and the long jump.

Flores placed second in the 400 meters at the conference finals with a time of 55.03 seconds. He placed third in the long jump with a 19-6 showing.

Anthony Scudder will compete in the section 800 meters. Scudder placed second in the WAC finals with a 2:04 time.

The top three finishers in each event at the conference finals advanced to the section, which started Tuesday and concludes today (Thursday).
