     Gustine FFA’s December Highlights

The holidays are always a time to remember to be grateful and humble. Gustine FFA upheld these actions throughout December by donating, competing, and helping out around the community.

On December 4th, the regional project competition contest took place. Students who participated were Baylor Bloom, Dominic Alves, Madeline Alves, Michael Salsa, Mark Silveira, and Justin Lopes. Mark Silveira, a participant states, “Participating in the regional project competition provided me with an invaluable opportunity to share insights about the work I undertake on my family’s dairy farm. This experience enhanced my public speaking skills while allowing me to educate others on the importance of the procedures we implement at Silveira Dairy.” This contest helps create an atmosphere to share their knowledge and develop skills used in agriculture.

Remembering to give thanks drives FFA. To help out the community, Gustine FFA worked with the Lions Club for their annual Toy Drive. Members were able to donate unused and unopened toys to the Lions Club, where the police station then delivered them door to door. This not only spread joy to children but showcased the spirit of generosity and gratitude. Teamwork can truly make a positive impact on our community.

The monthly December meeting reminded members of upcoming events, deadlines, and activities, all while adding a little holiday cheer. With a Ugly Christmas sweater contest, hot chocolate, and a cookie decorating contest, it’s safe to say Gustine FFA brings a festive spirit that helps keep everyone engaged and excited for upcoming occasions.

As the year comes to a close, judging teams are starting their practices. Soil judging, Meat judging, livestock, floral, and more are all offered in the Gustine, we wish our members good luck at their competitions as they will gain valuable experiences.

Gustine FFA continues to make a positive impact by teaching our members gratitude and the value of always giving a helping hand. This has not only brought joy to others but also strengthened bonds within this organization and community.
