The Newman Police Department was on hand for the Community Heroes’ Night at the Turlock Masonic Lodge on Sept. 14. During the ceremony, Newman Police Officer Corey Bayer (pictured in the suit) was recognized as the Newman Police Department’s Officer of the Year recipient.

“We would like to thank the Turlock Masonic Lodge for inviting us to participate and allowing us the opportunity to celebrate the accomplishments of Officer Bayer, as well as the law enforcement officers from our allied agencies,” the police department said. “Congratulations to all of the honorees and thank you for your service!”
