In a heartwarming display of initiative and compassion, McKinley Silveira, a fourth-grade student at Our Lady of Miracles Catholic School, has launched a Kindness Club to spread positivity on campus.

Inspired by her own vision for a friendlier and more welcoming school environment, McKinley approached school staff last week with the idea for the club, which was enthusiastically received.

McKinley’s goal for the Kindness Club is to greet visitors and students with warmth and kindness during morning drop-offs and afternoon dismissals, creating a supportive and friendly atmosphere. The club’s mission is simple yet impactful: to spread kindness around campus “wherever and whenever they can.”

Emma Lopes, another dedicated student at OLMCS, has taken on the role of Kindness Club Director. Together, McKinley and Emma led a test run of the club’s activities earlier this week, greeting students and their families at the school gate with smiles and positive energy.

“Our hope is that this club will increase positivity in our school culture,” OLM shared on their Facebook page “We could all use a little more kindness in our lives!”

Since its formation, the Kindness Club has already seen a wave of interest from other students eager to join. The club’s positive impact is expected to grow as more students participate in McKinley’s inspiring mission to make kindness a cornerstone of everyday life at OLMCS.
