Newman 4-H is gearing up for National 4-H Week, which kicks off next week, with a series of exciting activities that highlight the skills, leadership, and community spirit of its members. As part of the national celebration, Newman 4-H has been busy preparing a special window display showcasing the wide range of activities its members participate in throughout the year. The display aligns with this year’s National 4-H Week theme: “Beyond Ready,” emphasizing how 4-H youth are prepared to meet challenges head-on and grow into future leaders.
Among the standout projects for the week, Newman 4-H is taking part in the Fantozzi Farms’ annual scarecrow contest, adding a creative touch to the local fall festivities. The scarecrow, built by the club members, demonstrates their dedication to creativity, teamwork, and agriculture — core values of the 4-H program.
The motto “Make the Best Better” serves as the foundation for the club’s efforts, and the members are ready to showcase their skills at several upcoming events. The Ag Adventure event, hosted by the Stanislaus County Farm Bureau in Modesto on Oct.17, will be one of the first opportunities for 4-H members to promote agricultural education to the community. Following this, members will be out at the Fantozzi Farms Pumpkin Patch on Oct. 19, where they will engage with visitors and demonstrate their passion for agriculture.
The club’s community involvement continues later in the month with participation in the Bonita School Fall Carnival on Oct. 25, bringing a bit of 4-H fun to the local school, and Newman’s Trunk or Treat on Halloween, where members will be present to promote 4-H’s positive impact on youth development.
As National 4-H Week approaches, Newman 4-H invites the community to get involved and learn more about the program. Whether it’s through visiting their window display or attending one of the many events, the club is ready to “Be Beyond Ready” and make a difference in the community.
Come join Newman 4-H and experience firsthand how these young leaders are making their mark.
