Newman FFA shines at Stanislaus County Fair

This year, Newman FFA had 33 students exhibit animals at the Stanislaus County Fair ranging from turkeys, sheep, pigs, and dairy cattle.

Pigs kicked off the week for us. All nine members did extremely well in their market classes with Logan Garcia placing second and Juliette Waite placing first. In showmanship Richard and Kyleigh Brace placed fifth.

Next up was the sheep show. The 10 sheep exhibitors all had a successful week with all students placing in the top five in their market classes. Charlize Lemus placed second in market and Madison Durbala placed sixth in Intermediate Showmanship.

During the same two days, our goat exhibitors did an outstanding job with Madison Beach being Reserve Middle Weight Champion.

In our Dairy Cattle Grade show, we had Daniel Gomes exhibit for his final year placing second with his winter Holstein calf.

To end out the week with the turkey show, Newman FFA dominated the fair with their turkeys this year. All placed in the top four with many like Kamilla Gonzalez and Logan Garcia being first and second to name a few of the ten. The highlight was Raymundo Alfaro exhibited the Supreme Grand Champion market Turkey of the entire Stanislaus County Fair.

All these members did an amazing job and withstood through the heat the entire week this year during the fair. They gave it their all and came out with awards.
