After a week filled with rehearsals learning songs, dances, lines, and stage cues - the 44 youth performers took to the stage Saturday evening at the West Side Theatre.

Both shows were packed with eager audience members who smiled, laughed, and applauded as they witnessed the story unfold. Sleeping Beauty did prick her finger as Scarella stated and fell into a 500-year sleep before awakening to a prince - well, actually the King of Rock n’ Roll - and discovered that Scarella turned the castle into a 50s diner. It was a lively evening of music, dancing, and fun.

Performers included Annalise Borba (younger Sleeping Beauty), Bella Armendariz (older Sleeping Beauty), MK Rath (Scarella), David Miller (King), Isabel Jaramillo (Queen), Haley Sanders (Spot), and Ana Guzman (Lady-in-waiting/Madame Butterfly). The demure group of fairies were played by Patricia Borba, Kaylee Watson, Kayla Esquivez, Isabella Gomez, Mellorie Leon/McKay, McKinley Silveira, and Avianna Smith.  The grungy band of trolls was played by Ruben Guzman, Logan Cordeiro, Daniel Rios, NJ Dematos, and Abby Watson.  The excited palace attendees (among them were cooks, maids, guards, musicians, and the town crier) were portrayed by Luke Petitt, Irys Juarez, Mason Lopez, Elena McWilliams, Jannlle Fernandes, Zayleih Hopkins, Carli Gusman, Faylynn Wilkons, Natalie Medina, Mary Catherine Borba, William Rios, Keegan Garcia Sophie McWilliams, Anessa Sequeira, and Madison Lopes.  The squirmy caterpillars were played by Isabella Gabriella Ayers, Bailey Silveira, Dakota Strongheart, Mason Mesquita, Amelia Campos, and Stella McWilliams.  The Assistant Directors that helped behind the scenes were Aleah Cordero and MK Rath (who jumped up to fill the role of Scarella midweek).  The Jester was played by the MCT Tour Co-Director Emily Shafritz as Logan Chance, the other MCT Tour Co-Director lead backstage.

This experience was made possible by numerous generous donors in addition to the West Side Theatre Foundation.  The Director Level supporter with a $1,000 donation was The Silveira Family.  The Sponsor Level supporters with $500 donations included Dr. Manuel L. Canga MD, The DiMare Company, Gary and Cyndi Mall, Frank B. Marks and Son, Inc., Bill Mattos, Newman Ace Hardware, Pizza Plus, and Carol Stephens.
