On Oct. 15, the Gustine Traveling Library celebrated a major milestone with the official Traveling Library Day event at its headquarters, located at 417 5th Street. The event marked the distribution of more than 300,000 free books to youth, adults, and seniors across California, a remarkable achievement since the library’s founding in 2017. The day was filled with community spirit, featuring speeches from library staff, giveaways, and activities for attendees of all ages. The Traveling Library, which began as a small local initiative by founder Zachery Ramos, has grown into a powerful resource for promoting literacy and education statewide, continuing its mission to make reading accessible to all.
