Fire Calls Aug. 2 to Aug. 6

The Newman Fire Station responded to 16 calls for service from Aug. 2 to Aug. 6. The calls included 10 for emergency Medical Services, one vehicle collision, one potential structure fire, one false alarm call, two vegetation fires and one public assist call.

At 2:25 a.m. on Aug. 2, the Newman Fire Station was dispatched to a vegetation fire near Interstate 5 and Stuhr Road. On arrival, the fire crews found a trash fire that had spread to vegetation. The fire crews rapidly extinguished the fire without further incident. The cause is unknown, and no damages or injuries have been reported. 

At 11:24 a.m. on Aug. 5, the Newman Fire Station was dispatched for a vehicle collision near Stuhr Road and Eastin Road. On arrival, the fire crews found a single vehicle rollover with one occupant out of the vehicle. The fire crews assessed the occupant and secured the vehicle. The occupant had sustained minor injuries, and damages were estimated at $7,000.
