The Newman Fire Station responded to 25 calls for service from Feb. 16 to Feb. 21. The calls included 17 for Emergency Medical Services, two vehicle collisions, one fire alarm, two public assistance calls, one vegetation fire call, one smoke check call and one down wire call.

At 8:21 p.m. on Feb. 18, the Newman Station was dispatched for a vehicle versus pedestrian near Shiells Road and Eastin Road. On arrival, the fire crew found a truck and one pedestrian. The fire crews assessed the pedestrian and assisted with traffic control. The pedestrian had major injuries and no vehicle damages were reported. 

At 7:30 a.m. on Feb. 20, the Newman Station was dispatched for a vegetation fire near Jensen Road and Fig Lane. On arrival, the fire crew found multiple palm trees burning. The fire crews quickly worked to secure the power poles that were nearby. The fire was extinguished and no injuries or damages were reported.
