Newman Fire Dept.

The Newman Fire Station responded to 36 calls for service from July 3 to July 11. The calls included 20 for Emergency Medical Services, five vegetation fire calls, one structure fire, one mutual aid, one false alarm, five trash fires, one vehicle fire, and two public assists.

At 2:54 a.m. on July 4, the Newman Fire Station was dispatched for a vegetation fire in the area of Del Puerto Canyon Road in Patterson. On arrival, the fire crews found a grass fire and multiple resources. The fire crews worked diligently to extinguish the fire. The cause is unknown, and there are no injuries to report. 

At 6:39 p.m. on July 10, the Newman Fire Station was dispatched for a potential structure fire in the area of Main Street and Fresno Street. On arrival, the fire crews found a small outside patio trash fire. The fire crews quickly extinguished the fire, and the cause is under investigation. There are no injuries or damages to report. 

Gustine Fire Dept.

The Gustine Fire Department in cooperation with Merced County Fire Department/CAL Fire ran a total of 21 calls from July 7 to July 11. The calls included 11 for Emergency Medical Services, five vegetation fires, one commercial structure fire, one public assist, one vehicle fire and two vehicle collisions.
