Newman Fire 

The Newman Fire Station responded to 40 calls for service from July 12 to July 18. The calls included 18 for Emergency Medical Services, two vegetation fires, one smoke check, four mutual aid calls, one false alarm, four vehicle collisions, one vehicle fire and nine public assists.

At 9:30 p.m. on July 12, the Newman Fire Station was dispatched for a vehicle collision in the area of Yolo Street and R Street. On arrival, the fire crew found two vehicles involved with three occupants in total. The fire crew assessed the occupants and secured the vehicles. The damages were estimated at $41,000, with minor injuries reported. 

At 10:52 p.m. on July 13, the Newman Fire Station was dispatched for a vehicle fire in the area of Fink Road and Bell Road in Crows Landing. On arrival, the fire crew found a semi-truck trailer fully involved in flames. The fire crew quickly extinguished the fire. The cause is unknown, with damages estimated at $40,000, and no injuries were reported. 

At 6:45 p.m. on July 17, the Newman Fire Station was dispatched for a vehicle collision in the area of Sherman Parkway and Highway 33. On arrival, the fire crew found two vehicles. One was blocking the roadway, and one was on its roof. The fire crew assessed the occupants and secured the vehicles. The damages were estimated at $21,000, with minor injuries reported. 

At 6:39 p.m. on July 18, the Newman Fire Station was dispatched for a potential structure fire in the area of Main Street and Fresno Street. On arrival, the fire crews found a small outside patio trash fire. The fire crews quickly extinguished the fire, and the cause is under investigation. There were no injuries or damages to report. 

Gustine Fire

The Gustine Fire Station in cooperation with the Merced County Fire Department/CAL FIRE responded to a total of 15 calls from July 15 to July 19. The calls included seven for Emergency Medical Services, two vehicle fires, two vehicle collisions, one vegetation fire and three public assists.
