Fire Calls: March 13, 2024

The Newman Fire Station responded to 33 calls for service from March 1 to March 7. The calls included 20 for Emergency Medical Services, two vehicle collisions, three fire alarms, four public assistance calls, one unknown fire call, one smoke check call, one trash fire call and one structure fire call.

At 8:28 a.m. on March 4, On March 4, the Newman Station was dispatched for a structure fire in the 4000 block of Crows Landing Road. On arrival, the fire crews found a shed fully involved in flames. The fire crews quickly extinguished the fire. The cause and damages are under investigation by the Stanislaus County Fire Investigation Unit. 

At 3:24 p.m. on March 4, the Newman Station was dispatched for a vehicle collision in the area of Freitas Road and River Road. On arrival, the fire crew found a single vehicle on its side with one occupant reporting minor injuries. The damages were estimated at $20,000 and the cause is under investigation by CHP. 

At 5:16 p.m. on March 6, the Newman Station was dispatched for a vehicle collision in the area of Hills Ferry Road and River Road. On arrival, the fire crew found 3 vehicles with one blocking the roadway and two off the side of the road. The occupants had no injuries and damages were estimated at $18,000.
