Fire calls March 13 to March 21

Newman Fire Department

The Newman Fire Station responded to 21 calls for service from March 13 to 20. The calls included 11 for Emergency Medical Services, four public assists, one vehicle collision, one false alarm, one unknown fire call, one illegal burn call and two vehicle fire calls.

At 7:25 p.m. on March 18, the Newman Station was dispatched for an unknown fire in the 2100 Block of L Street. On arrival, the fire crews found employees extinguishing a pallet fire. The fire crews quickly jumped into action to finish extinguishing the pallet fire. The cause of the fire is under investigation. No injuries were reported, and the damages are unknown.

At 6:32 p.m. on March 19, the Newman Station was dispatched for a vehicle fire in the 2100 block of Orestimba Road. On arrival, the fire crews found a pick-up truck fully involved in flames. The crews rapidly extinguished the fire, and the cause was determined to be mechanical. No injuries were reported, and the damage was estimated at $10,000.

 

Gustine Fire Department

The Gustine Fire Department responded to 14 calls from March 14 to March 21. The calls included six for Emergency Medical Services, one vegetation fire, five public assists, one debris fire and one call of downed powerlines.
