Gustine Fire Department

The Gustine Fire Station had 13 calls for service during the week of Oct. 28 to Nov. 3. The calls included seven for Emergency Medical Services, two structure fires, one vehicle fire, two motor vehicle collisions and one debris fire.

 

Newman Fire Department

The Newman Fire Station responded to 26 calls for service from Oct. 25 to Oct. 30. The calls included 12 for Emergency Medical Services, three vegetation fires, two fire assist calls, one fire out call, one rescue call, one mutual aid call, two vehicle collisions, two fire alarms and two public assist calls.

At 6:06 a.m. on Oct. 25, the Newman Fire Station was dispatched to a vehicle accident near Moorehead Road and Draper Road. On arrival, the fire crews found a single-vehicle rollover with one occupant ejected. The fire crews worked diligently to secure the occupant and vehicle. The cause of the accident is under investigation by CHP, and injuries were classified as severe. The damages were estimated at $10,000. 

At 12:49 p.m. on Oct. 26, the Newman Fire Station was dispatched to a mutual aid request working structure fire in the City of Patterson. On arrival, the fire crew was assigned to provide station coverage. The crew was dedicated to the incident for an hour before being released.

At 8:18 p.m. on Oct. 27, the Newman Fire Station was dispatched to a vegetation fire near Interstate 5 and Pete Miller Road. On arrival, the fire crews found a 2-acre grass fire. The fire crews quickly extinguished the fire and secured the property. The cause of the fire was determined to be from an animal shorting out a power transformer. There were no damages or injuries to report.
