Gustine Fire Department

The Gustine Fire Department in partnership with Cal Fire, responded to three calls from Sept. 20 to Sept. 26. The calls included two for Emergency Medical Services and one for a public assist.

Newman Fire Department

The Newman Fire Station responded to 31 calls for service from Sept. 20 to Sept. 26. The calls included 24 for Emergency Medical Services, one potential structure fire call, one trash fire call, one hay fire call, two vegetation fire calls and two public assists.

At 4:35 a.m. on Sept. 22, the Newman Fire Station was dispatched to a vegetation fire on Eastin Road and Moorehead Road. On arrival, the fire crews found one acre of light flashy fuels with a slow rate of spread. The fire crews quickly extinguished the roadside fire without incident. The cause was undetermined, and there were no damages or injuries to report.
