Gustine Fire Department

The Gustine Fire Department responded to a total of 23 incidents from Sept. 6 to Sept. 12. The calls included 16 for Emergency Medical Services, three vehicle collisions, one vehicle fire, two vegetation fires and one public assist.

 

Newman Fire Department

The Newman Fire Station responded to 26 calls for service from Sept. 6 to Sept. 12. The calls included 14 for Emergency Medical Services, three false alarms, one trash fire, one mutual aid call, one vehicle collision call, one tractor fire call, one assist to another agency, two vegetation fires and two public assists.

At 11:45 p.m. on Sept. 7, the Newman Fire Station was dispatched to a vegetation fire near Eastin Road and Moorehead Road. On arrival, the fire crews found a roadside vegetation fire. The fire crews quickly extinguished the fire. The cause was undetermined and there were no damages or injuries to report.

At 12:14 p.m. on Sept. 8, the Newman Fire Station was dispatched to a collision on Interstate 5 near Fink Road. On arrival, the fire crews found a semi-truck in the center-divide with occupants out of the vehicle. The semi-truck was secured, and occupants were packaged for transport. The damages were estimated at $200,000, and no injuries were reported.

At 2:40 p.m. on Sept. 10, the Newman Fire Station was dispatched to an unknown fire in the 4000 block of Pete Miller Road. On arrival, the fire crews found a tractor-trailer on fire. The fire crews rapidly extinguished the fire and obtained information. The cause of the fire was undetermined. The damages were estimated at $125,000, and no injuries were reported.
