Newman Police Department

The Newman Police Department received 77 calls for service and reported 37 officer-initiated calls for a total of 114 incidents from Jan. 31 to Feb. 6.

There were nine cases opened and four arrests. The department issued two traffic citations and two parking citations. One vehicle was towed.

 

Arrests

Jermaine Taylor, 47, of San Francisco was arrested on Feb. 1 for child abuse and obstructing or resisting a peace officer.

James Townsend, 51, of Newman was arrested on Feb. 1 for DUI and DUI of .08 or more.

An unnamed 31-year-old Newman man was arrested on Feb. 1 for attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon, domestic violence, court order violation, exhibiting a deadly weapon, criminal threats and stalking.

An unnamed 37-year-old Newman man was arrested on Feb. 4 for domestic violence.

 

Gustine Police Department

Arrests

Robert Eric Wrobbel Jr., 29, was arrested at 9:13 p.m. on Feb. 5 in the area of 5th Street and 5th Avenue for possession of an unlawful paraphernalia, obstruction, battery on a peace officer and a warrant.
