Police calls Aug. 30 to Sept. 5

Newman Police Department

The Newman Police Department received 57 calls for service and reported 71 officer-initiated calls for a total of 128 incidents from Aug. 30 to Sept. 5.

There were 25 cases opened and 19 arrests. The department issued five traffic citations, six criminal citations, and 12 parking citations. Seven vehicles were towed.

 

Vandalism

The Newman Police Department arrested Yesenia Islas, 38, of Newman after she allegedly damaged the memorial for Cpl. Ronil Singh, located right outside the police department.

According to the police report, Islas scratched the plaque in numerous spots. The damage was estimated $5,000.

Islas was apprehended after officers spotted her on surveillance video committing the vandalism.

 

 

Arrests

Yesenia Islas, 38, of Newman was arrested on Aug. 30 for vandalism.

Alberto Lopez, 29, of Newman was arrested on Aug. 30 for being a felon in possession of pepper spray.

Viktor Ayala Gebhart, 18, of Newman was arrested on Aug. 30 for possession of more than 28.5 grams of marijuana.

Jennier Gebhart, 45, of Newman was arrested on Aug. 30 for possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, obstructing and/or resisting a police officer, driving on a license suspended for DUI, and warrants.

A 17-year-old Newman girl was arrested on Aug. 30 for obstructing and/or resisting a police officer.

Jacob Juarez, 18, of Fresno was arrested on Aug. 30 for a warrant.

Elijiah Villanueva Saechaeo, 25, of Merced was arrested on Aug. 31 for DUI and DI of .08 or more.

Luis Martinez Cedillo, 41, of Gustine was arrested on Aug. 31 for DUI and DUI of .08 or more.

Miguel Ibarra, 39, of Newman was arrested on Aug. 31 for being under the influence of a controlled substance.

A 42-year-old unnamed Newman man was arrested on Sept. 1 for battery on a spouse.

Jesse Lara III, 31, of Newman was arrested on Sept. 1 for obstructing and/or resisting a police officer and disorderly conduct.

Easia Torres Lanford, 21, of Patterson was arrested on Sept. 1 for DUI, DUI of .08 or more, being an unlicensed driver, and carrying a loaded unregistered handgun.

Johnny Davis, 44, of Newman was arrested on Sept. 3 for non-violent child abuse.

Lauren Espinoza, 29, of Newman was arrested on Sept. 3 for non-violent child abuse.

Maria Soto, 54, of Newman was arrested on Sept. 3 for driving on a suspended license.

Deyshawn Rosenburgh, 19, of Modesto was arrested on Sept. 4 for carrying an unregistered handgun, possession of a large capacity magazine and possession of an unserialized firearm.

Ivan Perez, 18, of Newman was arrested on Sept. 4 for vandalism.

 

Gustine Police Department

Arrests

Francisco Elizalde, 43, was arrested at 7:21 p.m. Aug. 31 in the 1300 block of Lucerne for burglary and obstructing and/or resisting a police officer.

Hector Ramon Baez Camacho, 35, was arrested at 4:45 p.m. Sept. 4 in the area of Whitworth Road and Highway 140 for violation of a court order.
