Newman Police Department

The Newman Police Department received 57 calls for service and reported 64 officer-initiated calls for a total of 121 incidents from Jan. 24 to Jan. 30.

There were 13 cases opened and seven arrests. The department issued nine traffic citations, one criminal citation, and 12 parking citations. Three vehicles were towed.

Jimmy De La Cruz, 36, of Newman was arrested on Jan. 24 for a warrant.

Vue Xiong, 34, of Merced was arrested on Jan.26 for possession of a controlled substance and possession of unlawful paraphernalia.

Juan Lopez, 45, of Newman was arrested on Jan. 27 for possession of a controlled substance with two or more priors, possession of a controlled substance and possession of unlawful paraphernalia.

Gustine Police Department

Erica Maria Lopez, 40, was arrested at 10:57 p.m. on Jan. 31 in the area of West and 5th avenues for obstructing and/or resisting a peace officer and a warrant.
