Newman Police Department

The Newman Police Department received 63 calls for service and reported 92 officer-initiated calls for a total of 155 incidents from March 7 to March 13.

There were 13 cases opened and two arrests, both for non-licensed driver. The department issued 19 traffic citations, one municipal code violation, and 10 parking citations. Two vehicles were towed.

 

Vandalism

The police department took two similar reports of vandalism, both involving rocks.

On March 9, a rock was thrown through a window of a vehicle’s right front passenger side in the 1400 block of Inyo Avenue. The damage was reported to be around $250.

The second incident happened on March 12 in the 1500 block of P Street. In this incident a rock was thrown through a garage window, causing about $200 in damage.

 

Gustine Police Department

Assault

The police department investigated a report of inflicting corporal injury on a child, a misdemeanor in the 2800 block of Grove Avenue. The incident was reported at 8:25 a.m. on March 12. No arrests were reported.

 

Arrests

Eliseo Alejandro Bedolla Tamayo, 19, was arrested at 11:47 p.m. on March 7 in the area of 7th Street and 5th Avenue for being a minor in possession of alcohol and other vehicle code violations.

Jesus Gilberto Alfaro Ruiz, 31, was arrested at 6:18 p.m. on March 13 in the area of Jensen and Bambaurer roads for a warrant and driving on a license suspended for DUI.

Sergio Corona Ortiz, 33, was arrested at 9:36 p.m. on March 14 in the area of Highway 33 and Gun Club Road for a warrant.
