Newman Police Department

Activity Report

The Newman Police Department received 58 calls for service and reported 130 officer-initiated calls for a total of 188 incidents from Nov. 1 to Nov. 7.

The department opened 16 cases and made nine arrests. There were 12 traffic citations, one criminal citation, one municipal code violation and five parking citations. One vehicle was towed.

 

Vandalism

A Newman man was arrested for vandalism and drug-related charges after he allegedly threw a brick at a vehicle, the Newman Police Department reported.

On Nov. 1, the police department responded to the 1300 block of Tamarack Court for a report of vandalism. According to the report, a decorative brick was thrown at a Scion X8, causing a dent.

The reporting party identified Jesus Trigueros Rodriguez, 37, as the person who threw the brick. The police report stated Rodriguez threw the brick after an argument. He was taken into custody on suspicion of vandalism, possession of a controlled substance and possession of unlawful paraphernalia.

 

 

Arrests

Jesus Trigueros Rodriguez, 37, of Newman was arrested on Nov. 1 for vandalism, possession of a controlled substance and possession of unlawful paraphernalia.

David Cortez Cruz, 21, of Newman was arrested on Nov. 2 for being an accessory after the fact, obstructing and/or resisting a peace officer and being drunk in public.

Juan Garcia, 35, of Newman was arrested on Nov. 2 for making criminal threats, obstructing and/or resisting a peace officer and being drunk in public.

Crystal Boswell, 40, of Newman was arrested on Nov. 4 for warrants and possession of a controlled substance.

Ismael Flores, 38, of Newman was arrested on Nov. 6 for child abuse without injury.

David Anderson, 66, of Newman was arrested on Nov. 7 for possession of a controlled substance for sale and possession of a controlled substance.

 

Gustine Police Department

Sandy Mendoza Ahumada, 39, was arrested at 12:09 a.m. on Nov. 1 in the 300 block of 6th Street for obstructing a peace officer and disorderly conduct.

Jesus Cardona Marquez, 38, was arrested at 12:09 a.m. on Nov. 1 in the 300 block of 6th Street for obstructing a peace officer, disorderly conduct and a warrant.

Sehydicitaly Gutierrez De La Cruz, 34, was arrested at 12:09 a.m. on Nov. 1 in the 300 block of 6th street for obstructing a peace officer and disorderly conduct.
