Newman Police Department

The Newman Police Department received 65 calls for service and reported 141 officer-initiated calls for a total of 206 incidents from Nov. 15 to Nov. 21.

There were 19 cases opened and six arrests. The department issued 19 traffic citations, three criminal citations, eight parking citations and three animal citations. Nine vehicles were towed.

 

 

Arrests

Ramon Ramirez Garcia, 71, of Newman was arrested on Nov. 16 for driving on a license suspended for DUI.

Matthew Ramirez Dynes, 22, of Rancho Cordova was arrested on Nov. 16 for DUI, DUI of .08 or more and possession of a controlled substance.

Jimmy De La Cruz, 36, of Newman was arrested on Nov. 18 for disobeying a court order.

Daniel Vazquez, 48, of Gustine was arrested on Nov. 21 for DUI and DUI of .08 or more.

Arrests

Marisol Maldonado, 36, was arrested at 12:53 a.m. on Nov. 19 in the area of Santa Nella for assault with a deadly firearm, not a firearm, evading a peace officer with wanton disregard for safety, evading a peace officer and going the wrong way, obstructing or resisting a peace officer, DUI and DUI of .08 or more.

Jorge Mendoza Jr., 39, was arrested at 6:46 p.m. on Nov. 20 in the area of Meredith and Linden avenues for DUI, DUI of .08 or more and child abuse with possible great bodily injury.
