Police calls Sept. 13 to Sept. 19

Newman Police Department

The Newman Police Department received 66 calls for service and reported 72 officer-initiated calls for a total of 138 incidents between Sept. 13 to Sept. 19.

There were 21 cases opened and five arrests. The department issued four traffic citations, one criminal citation, two parking citations and one animal citation. Six vehicles were towed.

 

Arrests

Angel Dominguez, 37 of Modesto was arrested on Sept. 13 for possession of controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

A 14-year-old Newman boy was arrested on Sept. 13 for making criminal threats and threatening a school.

An unnamed 39-year-old Newman woman was arrested on Sept. 14 for domestic violence.

Emmanuel Jimenez Cruz, 28, of Newman was arrested on Sept. 15 for DUI, DUI of .08 or more and being an unlicensed driver.

A 17-year-old Newman boy was arrested on Sept. 16 for possession of a weapon at school.

 

Gustine Police Department

Theft

A theft was reported at 2:14 p.m. Sept. 15 at the Dollar General at 1520 Meredith Avenue. The suspect was described as a black male adult. He stole soaps and detergent from the store and left in a gray four-door sedan. Video surveillance of the theft was given to the police department.

 

Suspicious incident

Shortly before 11 a.m. on Sept. 17, the Gustine Police Department received a call from Our Lady of Miracles catholic School. The report said a student found a baggie with a white substance in it on the playground. It was given to the yard duty who brought it into the office.

 

Narcotics

At 11:44 p.m. on Sept. 17, a student at Gustine High School reported finding a vape pen and marijuana on the school grounds.

 

Arrests

Kameron Michael Pecka, 40, was arrested at 6:41 p.m. on Sept. 13 in the area of 6th Street and 3rd Avenue for being under the influence of a controlled substance.

Ismael Diaz Prado, 21, was arrested at 1:53 p.m. on Sept. 15 for disorderly conduct, drug violations, obstructing or resting a peace officer and warrants.
