Police Calls Sept. 20 to Sept. 26

Newman Police Department

The Newman Police Department received 64 calls for service and reported 92 officer-initiated calls for a total of 156 incidents from Sept. 20 to Sept. 26.

There were 22 cases opened and 14 arrests were made. The department issued 26 traffic citations, six criminal citations and one animal citation. Three vehicles were towed.

 

Arrests

Rebecca Castillo, 51, of Modesto was arrested on Sept. 20 for a warrant.

Juan Lopez, 44, of Newman was arrested on Sept. 20 for possession of a controlled substance and a warrant.

Ancelmo Mantar Perez, 24, of Newman was arrested on Sept. 20 for DUI, DUI of .08 or more and driving on a license suspended for DUI.

Abraham Perez, 38, of Newman was arrested on Sept. 21 for DUI and being an unlicensed driver.

Eduardo Parra, 33, of Newman was arrested on Sept. 21 for a warrant.

An unnamed 33-year-old Newman man was arrested on Sept. 22 for domestic violence.

A 15-year-old Newman girl was arrested on Sept. 23 for shoplifting.

Nathan Powell, 41, of Newman was arrested on Sept. 25 for public nuisance,

An unnamed 37-year-old Newman man was arrested on Sept. 26 for domestic violence and a warrant.

 

Gustine Police Department

Theft

Shortly before 8 p.m. on Sept. 21, the Gustine Police Department responded to the Dollar General on Meredith Avenue for a report of a theft. According to the police department, a couple filled up a cart with merchandise and then walked out of the store with it, without paying for anything. No arrests were made. No other information was available about the suspects/

 

Arrests

Kevin Michael Addington, 28, was arrested at 10:48 p.m. on Sept. 20 in the area of Meredith Avenue and West Avenue for possession of a controlled substance.

Ryan Martin Fahey, 38, was arrested at 10:24 p.m. on Sept. 21 in the area of Laurel Avenue and Bonta Avenue for driving on a license suspended for DUI and a warrant.

Jose Manuel Perez Peralta, 34, was arrested at 12:27 a.m. on Sept. 22 in the area of East Avenue and Fairview Avenue for DUI, DUI of .08 and driving without a license.

Juan Fabian Ortega Cancela, 28, was arrested on 11:46 p.m. on Sept. 25 in the area of 4th Street and 1st Avenue for being a prohibited person in possession of ammunition.
