The Newman Police Department hosted the County Integrated Traffic Enforcement Team on Nov. 20 for a focus on traffic safety and compliance.
NPD regularly receives complaints of speeding, stop sign violations, and traffic violations committed in school zones. The CITE Team consists of allied agencies from throughout Stanislaus County with a goal of enhancing the safety of our communities and providing rules of the road education. CITE Team operations are also held in other communities within the county periodically throughout the year with the same goals of safety and education.
The operation was comprised of numerous law enforcement officers from the various Stanislaus County agencies and resulted in a total of 78 traffic citations issued between the hours of 7 a.m. and 12 p.m., ten of which were for motorists driving without a valid drivers license, and five vehicles were towed during the operation.
“We would like to thank our Stanislaus County allied agencies for participating in today’s event and for helping to make the Newman roadways safer,” the police department said on their Facebook page.
