Gustine FFA’s Fabulous February
ffa

February is the shortest month of the year, but even with that short amount of time, Gustine FFA utilized every second of February. A jam-packed schedule reminded all members how busy yet rewarding being a part of FFA is.

Starting this month off strong, February 1st was Arbuckle field day where the Farm Power team competed. Congratulations to all those who are a part of the Farm Power team.

To highlight the Future Leaders of America is a vision of what lies ahead. Each year, FFA chapters all celebrate National FFA Week. This week is time spent sharing what FFA is and the impact it has on members every day. As a way to engage the school community, chapter officers planned fun dress-up days, nutrition break activities, and the FFA Rally. Monday was Farmers' Day off (Pajama day) with a corn hole activity. Tuesday was Country vs. Country club and students participated in a hay bale toss at break. Wednesday was Dress as an Ag Teacher Day and members got to showcase their singing by playing Guess That Tune. Thursday was Predator vs. Prey and a rodeo roping contest was held. And finally, Friday was extreme Blue and Yellow with those wearing their best FFA attire. The activity that is most expected at the end of the week is to tape an Aggie to the wall. FFA students got to vote on which AG teacher they wanted to get taped, this year's was Ms.Day!

February 7th and 8th was the MFE and ALA Conference. MFE stands for Made for Excellence and ALA is Advanced Leadership Academy. Here, advisors took 15 active members to these conferences to learn valuable skills and collaborate with those around them. MFE is all about students starting to understand who they are and the core values that influence life choices. The opportunity to branch out and create relationships with others is invaluable. Gustine FFA sophomores walked away with 3 choices they will implement in their daily lives. Chapter members discovered how to best work on a team to achieve a common goal by developing teamwork skills. Thank you to those who signed up and learned new skills that will help make Gustine FFA a better place.

February 14th is the day of love and appreciation, in Gustine FFA’s case, the love for this organization. The FFA rally was an exciting event organized by the chapter officers. With fun games and hype music, who wouldn't want to participate in this? Many participants from each grade level competed in these games. While the rally was going on, the FFA Sweetheart was announced. A huge congratulations to all contestants and thank you to those who helped support these dedicated girls. Madeline Alves is the 2025 FFA Sweetheart!

Being highly active in FFA proves to be rewarding. With developments in personal skills and work skills, Gustine members can go through their daily lives with ideas on how to incorporate leadership and agriculture knowledge.
