Gustine High School is elevating its arts education by introducing 30 new iPads into the digital art class as part of the school’s arts pathway. This expansion is designed to give students access to industry-standard tools, such as graphic design software, to help them excel in fields like digital illustration and visual design.
The iPads will allow students to learn using the same technology that professionals in the art and design industries use, expanding their creative capabilities and giving them hands-on experience in digital arts. The investment in technology is part of the school’s broader commitment to enhancing student learning and preparing them for future careers.
Vice Principal Barbara Azevedo shared her excitement about the growing program, inviting the Gustine Unified School District board to visit the student art gallery, which now showcases much of the digital work being produced by students. Azevedo described the gallery as having “the feel of a New York-style art gallery,” with the artwork thoughtfully displayed under professional lighting and accompanied by music to create a gallery-like atmosphere.
This addition of iPads is expected to greatly enrich the students’ learning experience, offering them new ways to express their creativity while learning valuable skills in graphic design and digital media. The program aims to inspire more students to explore art and design as potential career paths.
