In a touching display of unity and compassion, Liz Alves, a kindergarten teacher at OLM, and Mary Beth Roe, A sixth-grade teacher at OLM, joined forces to champion a meaningful initiative aimed at providing care packages for troops stationed abroad.

The initiative began when a parent from the school approached Alves with the idea of packaging items for the troops. Motivated by this suggestion, the teacher reached out to Alica Alamo to secure contact details for her son, a local alumni serving in Poland with the platoon led by Clayton Alamo.

Over the course of two weeks, the collaborative efforts of both teachers, along with the support of the school community and parents, turned this idea into a reality. The campaign gained traction as news spread across social media, and thoughtful flyers were distributed to students, fostering a sense of excitement and camaraderie.

“Thank you for everyone’s outlook of generosity,” said Alves.
