The Merced County Board of Supervisors confirmed two appointments to the Santa Nella Municipal Advisory Council (MAC) at the April 8 meeting, ensuring continued representation for the community.
During Tuesday’s meeting, the Board reappointed Kelly Woodall to serve another four-year term and approved Evelin Gimlet to fill a vacant seat until March 31, 2026.
The Santa Nella MAC, established in 1981, serves as a vital link between the community and the Board of Supervisors. Its role is to provide advice on local services, including public health, safety, welfare, public works, and planning. Initially, the council consisted of 15 members and was based on the boundaries of the Santa Nella County Water District.
In 2023, the Board updated the council’s structure through Resolution No. 2023-41. This resolution aligned the MAC’s boundaries with the Santa Nella Community Plan and reduced its membership to five members. It also introduced voter registration as a requirement for serving on the council, ensuring that representatives are active participants in the community.
Woodall, whose term expired on March 31, 2025, has been a dedicated member of the council and will continue her service for another four years. Gimlet, a new appointee, will complete the remainder of an unexpired term, bringing fresh perspectives to the council. Both individuals meet the eligibility requirements, and no other applications were submitted for consideration.
Other members of the Santa Nella MAC are: Daniel Gonzalez, Maria G. Salazar Velazquez and Patricia Ramos Anderson.
The Santa Nella MAC plays a crucial role in addressing the needs of the community and advising the Board of Supervisors on key issues. With these appointments, the council is well-positioned to continue its mission of advocating for the residents of Santa Nella.
