The Turlock Mosquito Abatement District will help people learn about the threats of mosquitoes and how people can protect themselves at the District’s first open house event.
The open house is set from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on March 23 at the District headquarters at 4412 N. Washington Road in Turlock.
The District said the event will be an excellent opportunity to learn about the services the district offers in its effort to protect residents from mosquitoes and mosquito-borne diseases.
This is a family-friendly event with several booths to look at magnified mosquitoes, mosquito control equipment, mosquito fish, and meet the Turlock Mosquito team.
While touring the booths, guests can learn more about preventing mosquitoes from growing around their property and the newest mosquito, Aedes aegypti.
Turlock Mosquito Abatement District was established in 1942 to reduce mosquito populations that can transmit mosquito diseases. The District has protected cities and communities from mosquito-borne diseases for over eight decades through surveillance, mosquito control, and public health education.
