Orestimba 50+ Club

The Orestimba 50+ Club will be having their next meeting at 1 p.m. on July 19. The meeting will be at the LJ. Newman Bldg. at 649 Orestimba Road.  Following the meeting, refreshments will be served followed by Bingo.

Newman Library

The Newman Library is hosting a day for residents to help out the Newman Animal Shelter by making no-sew dog toys. The event will be from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. July 16. The library will use old T-shirts to make the dog toys. The event is designed for those 10 and older. Younger crafters need to be accompanied by a parent or adult.

Coaster Creators with the Modesto Children’s Museum will be held from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. on July 22. Sign-ups are required with the library.

Junk Journals with the West Side Arts Association will be held from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. July 23.

Lego Day will be from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. July 25.

The library will host preschool story time at 10 a.m. and Wee Move and Play each Wednesdays.

Gustine Library

The Gustine Library’s Family Storytime will be held at 10:30 a.m. on July 20 and Family Lego Fun Time at 1 p.m. on July 20.

Circle of Friends, an adult knitting and crocheting group will meet from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. July 23.

The adult book club will meet at 10 a.m. on July 11.

Tiny Tales Storytime is set for 10:30 a.m. on July 18 and July 25. It’s meant for children 3 to 6 years. Kid’s Game Time will be at 4 p.m. July 25 and is open to kids 7 to 12 years old.

Movie Night

The City of Newman’s recreation department is hosting a movie night at 8 p.m. July 20 at Sherman Park. The event is sponsored through a donation by Pizza Plus. The movie will be “Under the Boardwalk.”
