God called Ella (Goman) Gomes home to heaven on February 22, 2025 in Roseville, CA after years of battling a multitude of health issues. Ella was born in Gustine, CA to Albert and Eva Goman on April 14, 1947. She graduated from Gustine High School in 1965 and attended nursing school at San Jose State and Cuesta College where she was first in her class. She worked as a registered nurse (RN) from 1975-1987 in Sacramento until she retired in order to be fully present for her husband, George and children, George Jr. and Gina. Ella was a devoted, loving and faith-filled wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend. Her infectious smile, laughter, generosity and kindness will never be forgotten.

Ella is preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Eva Goman and her younger brother, Al Goman. She is survived by her husband, George of 58 years; her son, George Gomes Jr.; daughter-in-law, Katherine Gomes and her daughter, Gina (Gomes) Mertz and son-in-law, Bill Mertz; three grandchildren, Isabella, Luke and Natalie. She also leaves behind her eldest brother, Danny (Shirley) Goman; sister, Carol Salsa and sister- in-law, Kathy Goman and many other beloved family members and friends. Ella’s joyful spirit will be missed and remembered by all those who were blessed to know her.

Services will be held as follows:

A Visitation will be held at 1:00pm to 2:00pm followed by a Funeral Service at 2:00pm Wednesday, March 12th, 2025 at Hillview Chapel in Gustine, CA. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, March 22, 2025 at 11:00am at Bayside Church Granite Bay (Studio B / Video Cafe).
