Scooter~ George I. Sousa Jr., 80, a lifelong resident of Gustine, CA., has peacefully passed away on Monday, January 1, 2024.

Well-known by the nickname ‘Scooter,’ since High School, very few, along with his close Family, called him ‘George.’ Scooter was born to the late George Sr. and Gladys Sousa, in Hayward, CA. on January 30, 1943. He was raised and contently remained in Gustine throughout his life. Scooter had a career as an Autobody man, well-known throughout the West-Side, for over 45-years, retiring in 2011 from his self-owned Autobody Shop, “Scooters”. He is well known as an avid motorcycle rider, “Biker,” which, aside from his children and family, is what brought laughter and happiness to his life. Scooter was a life-long Member of the Modesto, CA. ‘HOG’ Harley-Davidson Motorcycle Group. The wind in his face and hair, and the louder the pipes, made him content and smile from ear to ear.

He is survived by his 2 children, daughter, Stacie Affonso (Late Husband, Loren), and son, Darrell ‘HD’ Sousa (Melissa Armstrong), three grandchildren, Dasan and Tessa Affonso, and Mia Armstrong-Sousa, his sister Emma Jean ‘Jeannie’ Mederios, and his many nephews and nieces.
