Linda Joyce Warfield, passed away Friday, March 1, 2024 with her family at her side. She was proceeded in death by her mom, Evelyn McCune and stepfather, Tom (Mack) McCune; Father, Joe Dias and brother, Bobby Dias. She is survived by her three children, Brett (Haley) Warfield of Sonora, Raquel (Jeff) Vergara of Turlock, and Aaron Warfield of Oakdale. Also, three grandchildren, Tommy Warfield, Keira Warfield, and Lainey Warfield, and one great grandchild, Blair Selesia, all of Sonora. 

Born and raised in Newman where she spent her childhood growing up. After graduating from Orestimba High School, she worked at the Sheriffs office in Modesto as a dispatcher. Where she also met and married Mike Warfield. Soon after, they moved to Sonora (In 1976) where they raised their three children. After spending the next eight years raising her children she started her career at Sonora Union High School, where she spent the next thirty-four years. She retired in 2017. She was respected and loved by everyone that knew her. While working at Sonora High she attended MJC and earned a degree in interior design. 

In her spare time, she collected antiques and she enjoyed car shows with her then longtime boyfriend Bill Rutherford of Stockton. She also enjoyed watching old western movies, but most of all she loved spending time with her family and friends. In her retirement years she spent a lot of her time caring for her mom in Newman. After her mom passed away in 2022, she moved back to Newman for good. While there, she rekindled many childhood friendships. Over the last few years, she really enjoyed all the time they spent together. She was loved by all who knew her. 

We love you very much mother and we will miss you dearly. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10am Friday, March 22nd, at St. Joachim’s Catholic Church in Newman. Interment to follow at Hills Ferry Cemetery in Newman.
