Socorro Sherrie Padilla, 76 of Salida passed away on April 3, 2024 at Memorial Medical Center in Modesto. 

Ms. Padilla was born in Newman and lived in Salida for the past three years previously residing in Modesto for many years. She was a switch board operator for the unemployment office for many years. Sherrie was a parishioner of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Modesto and was a member of the Legion of Mary. She enjoyed baking, cooking and she loved dancing, visiting her favorite place the beach and her many fur babies she had throughout her life. Most of all Sherrie loved her family. 

Ms. Padilla was survived by her daughters, Marissa (Andy Rak) Padilla of Salida and Magen (Jimmy) Cox of Turlock; granddaughter, Daniella Padilla; sister, Nancy Pettigrew of Arizona and Delma Nunes of Los Banos. She was preceded in death by her parents, Reyes and Herminia Gonzales; brothers, Manuel Gonzales, Tony Gonzales, and Manuel Gonzales, Jr.; sisters, Mary Dominguez and Elizabeth Sanchez. 

A Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm followed by the Rosary at 6:00 pm, Tuesday, April 16, 2024 at Hillview Funeral Chapels in Newman. A Mass of Catholic Burial will be held 10:00 am, Wednesday, April 17, 2024 at St. Joachim’s Catholic Church in Newman. Interment to follow at Hills Ferry Cemetery in Newman.
