John Souza Machado, 81 of Crows Landing passed away Wednesday, August 14 at the Alexander Cohen Hospice House in Hughson, California.

Mr. Machado was born in Gustine, California and was a resident of Newman and Crows Landing for 64 years. He was a United States Marine and proudly served his country. He was an active member of the local Lyons Club and VFW, participating in the support of his community. He enjoyed cooking, working with his tools on a multitude of projects, and valued spending time with his family.

Mr. Machado was a devoted husband to his wife of 47 years, Georgette Machado, who passed in 2016. He is survived by his family, son Robert Machado of Ceres; daughter Gina Machado-Escatel and son in law Danny Escatel of Modesto; brother Louis Machado of Modesto, and his three grandchildren Lauryn, Avery, and Aidan.

A Visitation will be held from 4:00pm to 6:00pm, Monday, August 26 at Hillview Funeral Chapel in Newman. A funeral service will be held at 11:00am, Tuesday, August 27 at Hillview Funeral Chapel in Newman. Interment to follow at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery in Santa Nella.
