The Gustine girls’ varsity basketball team were looking to add to their current win streak and did just that by beating the Delhi Hawks 59-23 on Thursday.

The Reds were playing to make this their third win this season. Starting early the game was close with the Reds leading 10-8 until #20 Shandel Aguilera scored a three-pointer and #5 Gwendolyn Barcellos added a layup to put the Reds up 15-8 going into the second quarter.

The Red's defense was able to hold the Hawks scoreless in the second quarter, while the Reds were able to add 14, making the score 29-8 going into halftime. 

The third and fourth quarters were both good for the Reds, Between

both quarters they were able to score 32 points. The Hawks were able to add 15 points to the board. The Lady Reds would come out on top of the game with the ending score being 59-23.

#20 Shandel Aguilera scored 20 points, #30 Brooklynn Jackson added 19 points, #5 Gwndolyn Barcellos put up 13 points, #21 Natalie Ventura added four points, #33 Olivia Rocha and #3 Kylie Palomino both added 2 points, and #31 Madeline Alves added a free throw.
