81st annual Gustine Rotary Basketball

The 81st annual varsity Gustine Rotary Basketball tournament took place on Dec. 5 to Dec. 7, hosting teams from Millennium, Livingston, Los Banos, and Orestimba.

The Rotary tournament is the longest high school-run basketball tournament in California.

The Reds faced Millenium on Wednesday night falling 53-31, then played Livingston on Friday night falling 91-17. To end off the tournament they faced Los Banos falling 72-8. Los Banos finished the tournament in first place taking home the 81st Rotary basketball tournament trophy.

Hilmar beat Orestimba to take home first place in the JV tournament.

Each team selected an all-tournament player who gets to take home a plaque.

Varsity awards for each team went to: Millennium, #14 Max Delgadillo; Livingston, #0 Adrian Aguirre; Los Banos, #2 Eric Ramos and MVP #1 Yahir Zuniga; Orestimba, #10 Devin Bell; Gustine, #11 Emilio Cabellaro and Cesar Gomez Award, #3 Kevin Zapata.

Each JV team also receives an all tournament player, which went to #11 Magdiel Zavala from Gustine.
