The Gustine varsity boys’ soccer team put on a dominating performance as they tallied 12 unanswered goals in their victory over the Stone Ridge Knights on Wednesday.
The Reds beat Stone Ridge, 12-0. They now have a record of 4-4 and have won their last three matches. Over the last four games, the Reds have scored 18 goals.
The team played exceptionally well as a unit, showcasing fantastic teamwork and individual skill in their win over Stone Ridge.
Abner Caballero (#3) scored the first goal of the night at the 36 minute mark. Eric Mora (#10) had the second goal of the night and Jose Gonzalez (#18) had four goals and six assists.
“It was a great collective effort,” said Coach Ivan Granados-Ruelas. “The league’s going to be tight this season so it’s really good that we got as many goals as we could today and I hope we keep the momentum going.”
