Delhi, CA—The Gustine Reds continued their impressive season with a commanding victory over the Delhi Hawks in a doubleheader on March 11, winning 8-2 and 9-3.
The Reds showcased their offensive prowess and solid teamwork, securing their fifth and then sixth consecutive win and improving their record to 8-3.
The first game was a home game for the Reds and resulted in the 8-2 win over Delhi.
Senior Mike Saaranzin stole the spotlight with an outstanding game at the plate, maintaining a perfect batting average of 1.000. In four plate appearances, Saaranzin recorded two hits, including a double, three runs, and an RBI.
Sophomore Alexander Quezada also contributed significantly to the Reds’ success, going 2-for-4 with two runs and exhibiting his reliability as a consistent hitter. He also tallied up two stolen bases.
Senior Michael Salsa added to the team's firepower with a hit, two runs, and one RBI in three at-bats, while senior Lucas Malone capitalized on a clutch opportunity to earn one hit and two RBIs.
