Orestimba JV boys’ soccer finish strong

The Orestimba JV boys’ soccer team won the Trans-Valley League title with an 11-1 record and 17-4 overall.

NEWMAN, Calif – The Orestimba High junior varsity boys’ soccer team had a very successful season.

The Warriors won the Trans-Valley League title with an 11-1 record and 17-4 overall. Some of the Warriors’ wins in the preseason were against bigger schools in Livingston, Ceres, Oakdale, Johansen of Modesto and Riverbank. Orestimba also knocked off Westside rival Gustine.

Jose Serrato and Jose Lopez served as the Warrior co-head coaches.

Members of the team are Carlos Martinez, Jose Rodriguez, Emmanuel Garabito, CJ Pearsall, Jhonathan Romero, Angel Pacheco, Eduardo Alatorre, Noel Madrigal, Jose Rodrigeuz Castaneda, Jesue Jimenez, Moises Ramirez, Rey Corona, Angel Lezama, Aaron Gallardo, Anthony Pacheco, Miguel Ibarra, Jann Carlo Romero, Adrian Figueroa, Axel Diaz and Israel Ramirez.

There is a junior on the team, along with eight sophomores and 11 freshmen.

Coach Lopez said it was a combination "of things that came together for the team's success." He said the boys have been playing on the same soccer teams since seventh and eighth grade and that they "all get along great and hold each other accountable."

Lopez also commended the team for their commitment, sacrifice, the support of the parents and the bond of the team.
