NEWMAN, Calif – Eight Orestimba High wrestlers took to the mat in their final home and Trans-Valley League dual match against powerhouse Escalon.

The visiting Cougars showed why they are one of the top teams in the league.

Escalon came away with a 70-3 win over Orestimba on Jan. 29. The loss gives the Warriors an 0-5 dual meet record in league.

Ernie Arteaga was the only Warrior winner in the 134-pound class.

Other Orestimba wrestlers who competed were Seth Blair (122), Chris Enriquez (128), Emiliano Madrigal-Arroyo (140), Mikey Santos (146), Richie Ebert (192) and Daniel Santana (217).

Cynthia Hernandez (147) was the only Warrior girl who competed on the mat.

This Saturday, Orestimba will take part in the TVL Tournament, which will be held at Hughson High.
