Gustine lost to Waterford back in January of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Wednesday. The Gustine Reds were the clear victor by a 6-2 margin over the Waterford Wildcats in the away game for the Reds.

Considering the Reds have won three games by more than three goals this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Gustine came out strong, finding the back of the net four times in the first half, to Waterford’s one goal. The second half saw Gustine notch up two more goals to Waterford’s one.

Senior Eric Mora put on a showcase of his soccer skills by scoring four of Gustine’s six goals. The striker also had two assists.

Gustine’s other two goals were scored by Abner Caballero and Jordy Hernandez. Jose Gonzalez had three assists.

Sophomore Frank Silvera was the goalkeeper for the game and recorded nine saves.

Gustine is also on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 5-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 24 goals over those five contests. As for Waterford, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-8.

Gustine wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and has already played their next game. The Gustine Reds took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Delhi Hawks on Friday. The Reds have struggled against the Hawks recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Gustine's loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 5-5. As for Delhi, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-6-5.

Gustine will face off against Denair at 5 p.m. on Tuesday.
